Police are searching for a 51-year-old man after what appears to be a second violent domestic assault this week.
Detectives have sworn out warrants charging 51-year-old Michael L. Seals with attempted murder, aggravated stalking and a protection order violation for allegedly attacking his estranged wife Wednesday evening.
Police allege Seals stabbed Tina Seals, also 51, in her back at a state employee parking lot just after 5 p.m. Michael Seals allegedly waited for his estranged wife at a bus stop at the lot at Fourth Avenue North & Harrison Street.
According to police, Michael Seals started arguing with Tina Seals when she got off the bus, and he then followed her through the lot before pulling a knife and stabbing her in the back. Tina Seals was able to get into a witness’ car to escape further harm. Witnesses told police Michael Seals calmly walked away from the scene.
Tina Seals was later taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she was listed in non-life-threatening condition Wednesday evening.
Domestic Violence detectives determined that Tina Seals recently obtained an order of protection against her husband and that he had phoned the victim Wednesday threatening to kill her.
Wednesday’s incident comes two days after the shooting death of Vickie Pearsall and the apparent suicide of her estranged husband Gilbert Pearsall, whom police suspected of killing his wife. Gilbert Pearsall apparently had a history of domestic violence against his wife and in 2009 threatened to kill her then shoot himself.
