TNInvestco fund names new investment chief
Council & Enhanced Tennessee Fund, a TNInvestco fund, has named Rick Apple  to oversee its investment sourcing and management.
Apple will be responsible for all aspects of the investment process, from deal sourcing and screening to portfolio monitoring and reporting.
Apple joined the Tennessee Fund and Council Capital — which partnered in 2009 with Enhanced Capital of New York to launch the TNInvestco fund — two years ago while he was working on his MBA and law degrees at Vanderbilt University.
Apple began his career in New York as a consultant with Oliver Wyman. He later was an analyst in the industrial growth investment banking group at Wachovia Securities.
Nashville Convention Center adds duo
Hampton has worked with Metro for 14 years, most recently serving as campus human resource director for the Hospital Authority’s Bordeaux Long Term Care facility.
In her new role, she is charged with guiding and implementing policies in recruiting, staff, compensation, benefits, training, diversity, labor relations and department budgeting, among other duties. She replaces Harriett Royer, who retired after 35 years with Metro.
McAlister comes to the Convention Center from the Loews Vanderbilt Hotel Nashville, where she was director of national accounts. A veteran of the hospitality industry, McAlister has also worked in sales positions at the Doubletree Hotel Nashville and the Nashville Airport Marriott.
As assistant director of sales, McAlister will assist the director of sales with development of marketing plans, contract negotiations and supervision of sales department employees, and will liaise with the Nashville Convention and Visitors Bureau and other hospitality organizations in promoting the Nashville Convention Center/Music City Center brand.
Avondale Partners expands team
Avondale Partners has added Patrick Davis and David Hale to its wealth and asset management team and Jeff Black to its equity research team.
Davis joins Avondale as a director responsible for growth of Avondale Conquest and other alternative products for the eastern half of the U.S. and Texas. Previously, he was president and CEO of F.P. Davis & Company. His 19-year career in the hedge fund/alternative investment industry includes positions at Silver Leaf Partners in New York City, Alternative Investment Resource in Chicago and Van Hedge Fund Advisors in Nashville. Davis holds a MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management of Vanderbilt University and a bachelor’s degree in German from the University of Tennessee.
Hale joins Avondale as a director responsible for growth of the company’s wealth and asset management divisions, including Avondale Conquest, for the West Coast.
Previously, he was sole managing principal of DNH Capital, LLC. His 12-year career in the industry includes stints as a vice president of investments at UBS Financial Services and a vice president and wealth advisor at Morgan Stanley. Hale holds a B.S. degree in finance and marketing from Loyola University in Chicago.
Black joins Avondale as a senior research analyst covering the consumer sector with a focus on mall-based specialty retailers. He brings more than a decade of retail-based research experience, most recently serving as a director and senior coverage analyst at Citigroup in New York. He has also held senior research positions at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers.
Black holds a B.A. and J.D. both from the University of Tennessee.
LBMC adds accountant
Lattimore Black Morgan & Cain has added Brooke Mullican  in its Brentwood office.
Mullican has joined the accounting firm in a staff position in the risk services department.
Mullican earned a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in information security from Lewis University. She is a Certified Ethical Hacker and has received the CompTIA Security + Certification.
BOHAN Advertising adds four
BOHAN Advertising has added Wade Breaux, Brandy Burnett, Tara Leek and Audrey Weddington to its staff.
Breaux, formerly vice president of marketing at Thompson Hospitality in Washington, D.C., joins as group account director. Breaux’s experience also includes serving as director of marketing and creative services for O’Charley’s and as vice president of the Buntin Group. He helped launch the Stormy Kromer Mercantile outdoor apparel company.
Burnett joins as broadcast producer. She has more than 20 years of experience in production and most recently was a television producer at Filmhouse. Burnett has filmed commercials, PSAs and short- and long-format programming across the U.S. and overseas.
Leek, formerly marketing coordinator for Front Burner Brands in Tampa, joins as a project manager. She has a mass communications degree from the University of South Florida.
Weddington, who has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s in mass communication from Middle Tennessee State University, has been hired as a brand engagement specialist. She has media buying experience from J&A Integrated Thinking and the Buntin Group.
