Police say it was a tragic accident that took the life of 21-month-old London Henn Thursday evening.
The accident occurred on Aaronwood Drive as Henn apparently fell from her father’s pickup truck after he’d stopped to talk to neighbors.
According to police, the father, 33-year-old Brad Henn, said he stopped to talk to two boys he knew and offered them a ride home when his daughter got out of her child seat and climbed into the front passenger seat.
When a neighbor opened the front passenger door, the young girl began to fall out, but when Brad Henn moved to grab his daughter he apparently accidentally hit the gas pedal with his foot causing the truck to lurch forward. Police said London Henn fell from the front seat and was struck by the truck’s right rear wheel.
London Henn was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where she died from her injuries. Brad Henn was also transported to a local hospital for care.
