Ashly E. Thompson, the woman indicted last week for her alleged role in her husband’s July killing and beheading, surrendered to police Tuesday afternoon.
The 35-year-old Thompson is charged with being an accessory after the fact in the death of Erman Thompson, 48, whose decapitated body was found in a field along Old Hermitage Avenue on July 11.
Metro detectives arrested Henry James Baxter the following day, alleging that Baxter, 37, admitted in an interview with police to shooting Erman Thompson and using a shovel to separate the head from the body.
Detectives allege that Ashly Thompson lied to them in the initial stages of the murder investigation and withheld information.
Baxter was also indicted last week on charges of first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse. He remains jailed in lieu of $750,000 bond.
According to police, the Thompsons and Baxter lived together on Claiborne Street.
Ashly Thompson and Baxter will be arraigned in Criminal Court in the near future.
