Metro police have decided not to file charges against a man they say fatally stabbed his brother in the parking lot of LP Field on Saturday night.
Joshua Alexander allegedly stabbed his brother, Jesse Alexander, following Tennessee State University’s homecoming football game Saturday during an argument. Joshua Alexander gave a detailed interview to police in the presence of his attorney Tuesday.
Once the Metro Nashville Police Department’s investigation is complete, the case will be turned over to the Davidson County District Attorney’s Office, which could still decide to charge Joshua Alexander.
MNPD detectives believe that Joshua Alexander’s self-defense claim is consistent with eyewitness accounts of the incident.
After the incident, Jesse Alexander, 26, was transported to Baptist Hospital where he died Saturday night.
