Andre Johnson, an officer of the Metro Nashville Police Department, has been booked and charged on a domestic assault charge stemming from an alleged incident in February involving his wife.
An arrest warrant issued early Wednesday charged Johnson with misdemeanor domestic assault.
According to police, Johnson’s wife met with domestic violence detectives Tuesday night and reported that he hit her during an argument in February of this year.
Johnson, 46, is a 24-year veteran of the police department and was last assigned to the Central Precinct. He is being decommissioned as the investigation continues.
