After multiple police calls, an incident in which 50 shots were fired and a padlocking order [1], Yea Baby’s nightclub on 1204 Murfreesboro Pike will close for good.
“This is very good news for the businesses and residents around that part of the Murfreesboro Pike corridor,” said Metro Nashville Police Department Chief Steve Anderson. “This club had negatively impacted the safety of its neighboring community for far too long and was a drain on the resources of the Hermitage Precinct.”
In a criminal court hearing this afternoon, attorneys representing business operator Paul Eichel and property owner Nancy Cook agreed to terminate the lease immediately.
The site was previously home to Silverado's, another nightclub operated by Eichel. Silverado’s was padlocked in August 2011 [2] after police received nearly 200 calls to the club during an 18-month time span.
Yea Baby had trouble with persistent fighting, drug crimes and other breaches of peace, according to police.
