Metro police have released a composite sketch of the suspect who fatally shot 43-year-old Dalia Gutierrez-Sanchez.
A representative of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives developed the sketch with help from a witness, and police are urging anyone with information on the suspect or recognizing him from the composite sketch to call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.
The gunman approached Gutierrez-Sanchez outside of her apartment at 371 Wallace Road just after 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 24.
Police believe robbery may have been a motive in the shooting because Gutierrez-Sanchez’s purse was taken from the scene.
The gunman fled the apartment complex on foot and was last seen on Wallace Road. He has been described as a black man in his early 20s with unkempt hair worn over to one side.
He is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. At the time of the shooting, the suspect wore tight-fitting blue jean shorts and a blue-green hooded sweatshirt, according to police.
