On a Wednesday a fascinating report surfaced [1] of a tangled web of deception involving Notre Dame's star linebacker Manti Te'o and his girlfriend that didn't exist. That report lead to more exposure of the practice known as catfishing [2], basically using a fake online persona to deceive someone.
