Legislators have singled out Nashville and Memphis [1] in proposed new charter authorizer legislation that would allow charter school applicants to bypass the local school boards in Davidson and Shelby counties if those boards are asked more than once to reverse charter rejections but refuse to do so. Do you find that to be an acceptable proposal or just lawmakers taking a shot at the school boards in the two cities?
