Randolph Maidens, the 42-year-old Brentwood man accused of killing his wife, waived his right to have a preliminary hearing to be held within 10 days in the Williamson County General Sessions court this morning.
Judge Al Nations set a preliminary hearing and a bond reduction hearing for May 23 at 1 p.m. District Attorney Kim Helper said the state will present two witnesses at that time. Maidens’ bond is currently $2.5 million.
Maidens allegedly shot and killed his wife , Brentwood orthodontist Dr. Rachael Maidens, at their home in the exclusive Governors Club subdivision in Brentwood sometime on or before Sunday, April 26.
Police entered the home as part of a welfare check at the request of the family of Dr. Maidens just before 6 p.m. on April 21. There they found her dead on the scene as a result of a shooting. Also found, unharmed, was the couple's 2-year-old daughter.
Police initiated a manhunt for Randolph Maidens and shut down the roughly 2,000-acre subdivision and golf course until he was located coming out of a wooded area, headed towards his home at about 6 a.m. on Monday, April 22.
