Payment America names new president, CEO
Payment America Systems, Inc., a local provider of health care revenue cycle services, has named Phil Christianson  its president and CEO.
Christianson offers more than 25 years of experience growing Fortune 500 and mid-sized health care businesses. His positions have included CEO of Focused Health Solutions, a disease management company; CEO of RealMed, a developer of SaaS revenue cycle management solutions for physicians; and CEO of Corporate Benefit Services of America, a claims and health information administrator. He also ran divisions of The Walt Disney Company and United Health Group.
Christianson holds a BA from Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo, a JD from Loyola Law School and an MBA from the University of Southern California.
“We are excited that Phil Christianson has joined Payment America to oversee our expansion strategy as we further develop our capabilities to help healthcare providers improve the management of their revenue cycle,” Rob McCabe, Payment chairman, said in a statement.
Payment America is a portfolio company of Council Capital, a Nashville-based private equity firm that focuses on health care investments.
Pierce joins Pinnacle
Donna Pierce  has joined Pinnacle Financial Partners as a registered principal for Pinnacle Asset Management.
Pierce brings 24 years of financial services experience to her role. She comes most recently from Morgan Keegan & Co. Inc. (Regions Bank), where she was a Regional Compliance Principal.
Pierce, who attended Austin Peay State University, holds Series 6, 7, 24, 53 and 63 licenses. She is a member of the Nashville Compliance Principal Roundtable and is a past state president for the Tennessee Federation of Business and Professional Women.
Pierce is based at Pinnacle’s Belle Meade office
Lovell adds Hall as senior strategist
Lovell Communications Inc. has added Perry Hall as a senior strategist and writer.
Hall brings more than 25 years of corporate and financial communications consulting expertise from New York and London.
“The addition of Perry strengthens Lovell Communications’ core competencies in public relations and crisis communications, and his U.S. and international experience in the financial markets expands our client services to investor relations and financial communications,” Paula Lovell, president and founder of the Nashville-based public relations and crisis communications agency, said in a release.
Hall began his PR and IR career in New York with Dewe Rogerson and Edelman Public Relations Worldwide. He later transferred to London, where he expanded into financial communications with Financial Dynamics and his own consulting practice, Cross Border Strategies. Among his numerous IPOs and listings, Hall advised VimpelCom, the first Russian company to list on the New York Stock Exchange. Hall also served as the lead strategist to Vodafone during its takeover of Mannesmann, the largest hostile bid on record, with a communications and media campaign covering the U.S., U.K., Europe and Asia.
Healthways names Tramuto to board
Healthways Inc. has named Donato Tramuto, CEO and vice chairman of Physicians Interactive, to its board of Directors.
“Donato will bring valuable strategic insights to our Board from his 30 years working as a healthcare innovator,” Ben Leedle, CEO of Healthways, said in a release.
Tramuto is one of the founders of Physicians Interactive and has served as its chief executive officer and vice chairman since 2008. Also, he served as president of the Physicians Interactive Division of Allscripts.
In addition to Tramuto and Leedle, the Healthways board includes John W. Ballantine, Dr. J. Cris Bisgard, Thomas G. Cigarran, Dr. Mary Jane England, M.D., Dr. C. Warren Neel, William D. Novelli, Dr. Alison Taunton-Rigby, John A. Wickens and Kevin G. Wills.
Landmark names Morrissey senior VP
Nashville native John Morrissey has been appointed senior vice president and city executive of Landmark Community Bank’s Nashville operations.
Landmark Community Bank is based in Shelby County.
Previously, Morrissey worked at Tennessee Bank and Trust as a senior vice president of commercial loans and mortgages. He began his banking career in 1988 with Metropolitan Federal S&L before moving to SouthTrust Bank in 1991 as a vice president of commercial banking.
Morrissey is a graduate of Montgomery Bell Academy and the University of the South.
iostudio hires trio
iostudio has announced three hires within the company’s business development and web development departments.
Steve Turney, business development director, joins iostudio with 10 years of experience in sales and business development for marketing, PR and technology companies. Previously, he managed enterprise and channel partnership sales for Emma, an email marketing company in Nashville, with clients including the Washington Redskins, Adams Golf and Sylvan Learning. Turney will lead iostudio’s expansion by building new client relations in the Midwest and on the West Coast.
Ernie Kozlowski, business development director, has 30 years of business development experience in the contact center industry, most recently serving as vice president for Valtim Marketing Solutions. Kozlowski will lead iostudio’s client growth in federal, not-for-profit and association industries.
Senior Web Developer Jay Johnston comes to iostudio from the social marketing agency Moontoast.
