All nine of the juvenile females who escaped from a Department of Children’s Services correctional facility on Wednesday have been apprehended.
The nine girls overpowered an employee of G4S, a security company that contracts with DCS, at the facility on Stewart’s Ferry Pike on Wednesday morning. A Metro Nashville Police Department officer caught up with the girls on Interstate 40. He and other officers were able to catch six of the runaways.
The three remaining escapees were missing until 3:30 a.m. when one of them was captured at a downtown gas station, accompanied by a homeless man.
Police found the last two girls near the Hermitage Inn of Lebanon Pike. The girls fled when they saw officers coming, but they were apprehended after a short foot chase.
